Gala: An Open-Access Platform for Interactive Learning With Sustainability Case Studies

Sustainability science has been gaining traction within academic research and teaching over the past few decades, it is now entering a phase of greater maturity as discipline, with links to sectors beyond academy including energy, finance, advocacy, development, design, construction, agriculture, healthcare. Concurrently, growth internet spurred innovation in platform development. This convergence generated technology-enabled opportunities for training sustainability scholars practitioners grounded active learning pedagogies. Case studies are one strategy becoming established fields environment sustainability. However, traditional case study form mode delivery, which excel at retroactive analysis strategic decision-making outcomes, can create challenges about issues involving emergent technologies rapidly changing scientific social dimensions. article describes novel platform, called Gala, through that address these challenges. Gala closely integrates text multimedia components, easily updated, embraces content consumers creators vice versa. We also report here results pilot investigated differences between graduate undergraduate student interactions different components.
